User-facing changes to Pages, newest first.

November 2, 2026

A second PDF now opens straight in a new tab, with no question, as it does in Acrobat. This goes for File > Open, a file dropped on the page and a file opened from your computer; several files open a tab each. In the desktop app each opens in a new window.
Drop a PDF on the thumbnails to insert its pages right where you let go. One Undo takes them out again.
File > When I open another PDF chooses what happens: New tab, New window, Combine or Ask. If you had chosen Combine or New window, that stays.
The Replace choice is gone. To open a file in place of the one on screen, choose File > Close document first.

The bar over a selected text box, picture or shape no longer covers the zoom controls, Go to page, Find, Undo or Print when the box is near the top of the page view. It now sits below the box.

A scanned page that is still being read says Reading… on its thumbnail, and Find says Searching… instead of No matches until the words are in. A search typed meanwhile finds them when the read ends, without typing it again.
The bar over a text box, signature, picture or shape you select now moves with the page when you scroll. Before, it stayed where it was while the page scrolled away under it. Scroll the box out of view and its bar goes too, and comes back with it.
Closing the document or opening another while Clean up scans or Compress images is working now stops it. Before, it could carry on and clean or compress the pages of the file you opened next.
A form whose fields add themselves up or format their own numbers now prints what you typed on the page when you export it, and the notice above the page says so when it opens. Before, its fields stayed fillable in the exported file but quietly stopped calculating.
Help now matches the app: Saving your work names Save as… and Export…, the section on removing text is called Edit text vs. Redact, and the contents list includes Setting up company sign-in and the SCIM section.
Tools > Clean up scans… no longer freezes the app while it looks at a long scan. It now says which page it is on, and Cancel stops it at once.

October 28, 2026

Open several PDFs as tabs in one window: File > Open in new tab, or choose New tab when you open another.
The tools have new places. The toolbar is now the default: Edit text is the first button, Fill & Sign the third and Draw the fourth, and Rotate, Duplicate and Remove are also on a bar above the thumbnails. If you prefer a side rail like Acrobat's, it is one click away in View > Layout, and Ctrl/Cmd+K searches every tool. The first document you open shows where things went, once, and Help > What moved shows it again.
Your saved details now suggest themselves. Click an empty form field that matches one of them, such as Email, First name or City, and a small Suggestion box under it shows what would go in. Click it to fill the field, or keep typing to ignore it. The same goes for an Add text box you place beside a printed label such as "Email:". My details has a new box, Suggest my details in form fields, to turn the suggestions off. Either way, Alt+S now lists the matching detail first.
A form field whose tooltip is set on its parent field is now named by it, in the notes that name a field.
"Fill matching fields" fills a form's name, address, email and similar fields from My details in one step, after a preview. Choose Insert > Fill & Sign > Fill matching fields…: what would go in each empty field shows in gray, and Fill writes it all, or Cancel writes nothing. One Undo empties them again. Fields already filled, signature boxes and check boxes are left alone.
Move My details to another device: Export my details… and Import… in My details.

Fill & Sign now fills form fields. Choose a detail, Date or Check mark and click a field, or press Alt+S in a field and pick a letter: your email goes into the Email box, today's date goes into a date field in the form's own format, a check mark ticks a checkbox, and your signature fits a Sign here box. A field that can't take what you chose says why and keeps what it had.
Choose the color of a new redaction. Redact on the bar over selected text now has an arrow beside it: pick Black, a gray, White, Red, Blue, Green, Yellow or No color and the words are redacted in it, and the next redaction uses the same color. Edit > Redact an area… shows the color while it is on, with the same choices. Whatever the color, the words are still removed from the exported file.
On a page that shows turned, such as a scan, a signature, a picture you add and a check mark now read the right way up as you see the page, on screen and in the saved PDF. Before, they could come out sideways or upside down.
Printing with the browser's own Print (Ctrl/Cmd+P) while Keyboard shortcuts or Export tables to Excel is open now prints only the pages, not the dialog over them.
Opening another PDF while one is open now asks how to open it. Combine puts its pages after the page you're on, and one Undo takes them out again; New window opens it on its own in a second window (not yet in the desktop app). This happens for File > Open, a file dropped on the document, and a file opened from your computer into the installed app or the desktop app, which before added it at the end without saying so. Tick Don't ask again to skip the question, and File > When I open another PDF sets it back to Ask. To open a file in place of the one on screen, choose File > Close document first.
On a phone, the bar over a text box, signature or shape you select now stays on the screen. Before, a text box near the right edge could leave Delete past the edge, and after a pinch zoom the bar could sit outside the part of the page you were looking at.
Insert > Fill & Sign now has Signature…, Initials… and My details…. The signature pad has a Save to My details box, ticked to start, so the signature you draw is kept on this device and offered first next time, with Draw new to make another. Initials… places your initials the way Signature… places a signature, starting from the initials of your saved name. My details shows your signature and initials and keeps your name, job title, company, email, phone and address on this device, never uploaded; Delete all removes them. If your organization has turned off remembering your work, they are kept only until you close the tab.
Fill & Sign now puts your details on the page. Insert > Fill & Sign has Name, Job title, Company, Email, Phone, Address, Date, Check mark and X beside Signature… and Initials…: choose one and click where it goes. Alt+S opens the same list anywhere, and a letter picks a row (E for Email, D for Date). In a text box the detail goes in where you're typing. The text starts where you click, and the next one is the size you last gave one; a signature is placed at the width you last gave it; Check mark and X stay on until Esc. My details has a Date format. To put your initials on every page, select them and choose Repeat….
On a phone, the signature pad now opens at the bottom of the screen, as wide as it, on Draw (with your saved signature offered first), and its buttons are larger. A signature drawn there is placed the shape you drew it; before, it came out squashed.
The keyboard keeps its place after the last Undo or Redo. When the Undo button goes away because nothing is left to undo, the focus moves to Redo, and the other way around, so Tab no longer starts again at the top of the window.

Fit page now fits the whole page in both directions. On a phone or a tablet held upright, the page no longer runs off the right edge when a document opens.
The keyboard keeps its place. After Undo or Redo of a page you duplicated, moved or removed, the focus stays on the page in the strip; after Print it comes back to the Print button; and Escape from a text box you are typing in leaves the box selected, so Tab no longer starts again at the top of the window.
On an iPhone or iPad, tapping into Find, Replace, Go to page or a field in a dialog no longer zooms the whole window in. Text fields on a touch screen are a little larger to make that so, and pinch zoom still works.
Tools > Clean up scans… and Compress images…: Cancel, the × or Escape while it says Working… now stops the job and leaves the document as it was, and says "Stopped. Nothing was changed." Before, the dialog closed but the job carried on and changed every page.
The zoom menu works from the keyboard. The up and down arrows, Home and End move through the zoom choices instead of turning to another page, and Tab, or moving the focus anywhere else, closes the menu.
On a phone, the app now fits the part of the window you can see while the browser's toolbar is showing. The last page, the last thumbnail and the bottom of the Menu, including Sign in, no longer sit under the toolbar.

Insert > Pages from PDFs…: in Firefox, Tab from the page range now goes straight to the pages instead of stopping once on the empty page list first. Scrolling a long file also draws the pages you stopped on first, rather than the ones you scrolled past.

Insert > Pages from PDFs…: choose where the pages go. At the end, At the start, After page (type the number), or After the selected page. The new pages are selected and the strip scrolls to them, and Undo takes them all out in one step.
Insert > Pages from PDFs…: every page of the file you are adding is shown with a tick. Add the whole file, or untick pages, use All and None, or type a range such as 1-3, 7. With several files you can choose pages in each one.
Insert > Pages from PDFs…: the pages can be chosen from the keyboard. Tab goes into the pages once; the arrow keys, Home and End move between them, Space ticks or unticks one, Enter shows it larger, and Escape comes back to the same page.
Several PDFs can be chosen at once in Insert > Pages from PDFs…, or dropped together, and they come to the same question.
Shapes: a check mark and an X, from the Shape button's arrow or Insert > Shape. They are placed, picked, sized, colored and moved like the other shapes, and are drawn into the PDF as lines, not pictures.
Copy a box, shape, picture or drawing: pick it, press Ctrl/Cmd+C, then Ctrl/Cmd+V to paste it a little down and to the right on the page you are on. Ctrl/Cmd+D duplicates it in place. Undo takes a paste back in one step. Alt+D still duplicates the page.
Double-click the Text or Shape button to keep that tool on for several in a row. It stays on until you press Escape or click the button once, and a click on a box or shape you already placed picks it instead of adding another. Shift+Enter on the button does the same from the keyboard.
Text boxes: a box you place with a click now gets wider as you type, up to the right edge of the page, and only then wraps onto a new line. Once you set a box's width yourself it keeps that width. The exported PDF breaks lines where the page does.

October 23, 2026

Export… now makes PDF, JPG, PNG or Excel from all, the current, selected or a range of pages. Extract pages lives there too.
Large pages are made at the highest resolution that fits instead of failing.
Export…: when the resolution you pick is too high for a page, the line under Resolution says so before you export, with the resolution it will really be made at. At 600 ppi, for example, a Letter page is made at 423.
Draw: write and draw on a page with a mouse, finger or pen from the Draw button, Insert > Draw or Alt+P. The eraser in its bar removes whole strokes and shapes.
Shapes: placing a shape now puts the Shape tool away and leaves the new shape picked, so a click on any shape picks it to move or resize instead of drawing another on top. Press Shape again for the next one.
In the installed app, Manage your account and Manage organization open in your browser again, instead of in another app window. Links to usepages.app's own pages, such as the change log, open in the browser too.
Signing in from the installed app opens the sign-in page in a window of its own and leaves the app where it is, with or without a document open. When you finish, that window closes and the app you started in is signed in.

Fillable PDFs: type straight into a form's fields, including option buttons and dropdowns; Export keeps them fillable, or prints what you typed when a form can't stay fillable.
Forms: Clear form, on the bar above a fillable form and under Edit, puts every field back to how the form started. It asks first, and Undo brings your entries back.
Forms: a form's own Clear (reset) and Print buttons now work while you fill it in. Other buttons, such as Submit, still do nothing in Pages and keep working in Acrobat after export.
Resize handles on the sides, not only the corners: a form field in Make fillable, a box, oval or triangle, and a picture each have eight handles, and a side handle changes the width or the height alone. A text box sizes from its left and right sides as well as its corner. A signature keeps its shape and sizes from its corners.
A picture can now be stretched by a side handle, or with Alt+arrow keys (Left and Right for the width, Up and Down for the height). The − and + buttons still scale it whole.
Shapes: draw an arrow, line, box, oval or triangle on a page from the Shape button or Insert > Shape, and change its line color, fill and thickness.
Shapes on a phone or tablet: one finger draws a shape, and two fingers scroll the page.
On a scan that opens turned, such as a landscape sheet from a scanner, Edit text now types across the page the way you see it, at the size of the words it replaces. Before, the text went sideways and came out far too large.

Cmd and + or − (Ctrl on Windows) zooms the document now, not the whole window. Cmd and 0 fits the whole page. It works from the find box and text boxes too. Your browser's own zoom is still in its menu.
Redactions can be black, gray, white, red, blue, green, yellow or No color. Pick a redaction to change its color or delete it.
Tables in a PDF can go to Excel. Choose File > Export tables to Excel… and Pages finds the tables on every page, including scans, and ticks the ones it is sure of; untick what you don't want. If a table is cut wrong, use Fix columns, and if it missed one, choose Add a table it missed and drag a box round it. Nothing leaves your computer.
Every bar for text has the same row of formatting: the bar over selected words, the bar in Edit text, and the bar on a text box. Highlight, text color, A− and A+, the size box, then bold, italic, underline and strikethrough.
Underline and strikethrough work on selected words and on text boxes, and they come out in the saved file. In Edit text, Ctrl/Cmd+U underlines the selected words.
Text boxes can be bold and italic.
Choosing a color or a size, or bold or italic, on selected words opens them for editing with the change made.
The bars fit a narrow window, and every button in them is big enough to tap.
A click on a highlight selects it, so you can change its color or remove it.
A double-click edits just that paragraph. Click away or press Escape to finish. Highlights stay visible while you edit.
Highlight shows the words under it on screen. Before, it could draw a solid yellow bar over them.
Highlight comes in colors. The arrow beside Highlight picks one, and Pages remembers it. Select over a highlight and pick another color to change it, or None to remove it.
Text color opens with a palette of colors, like Google Docs, with Custom for any other color.
Added text has a font size box with a list of sizes, beside A− and A+. A− and A+ now step one point at a time.
When you open Add a signature, keyboard focus now moves into the signature pad and stays there until you close it.
Company sign-in: an organization's owner or admin can set up sign-in with Okta or another OpenID Connect provider on the Organization page. Members can then sign in with it, on the web and in the desktop app. Signing in by email still works.

October 19, 2026

Print opens the print dialog right over your document in Chrome and Edge, instead of a new tab. Before, the tab could turn into a download that you had to open and print yourself.
If your browser is set to download PDFs instead of showing them, Print now says so. It saves the file and tells you why.
In Chrome and Edge, Export PDF, Extract and Split now ask where to save the file, so you can pick the folder and the name. Firefox and Safari still put it in your downloads.

October 17, 2026

Clean up scans and Restore originals now ask before they change how a page is straightened if the page has redactions on it. A redaction is a box on the page, and a different turn puts different pixels under the same box, so the redactions come off and have to be drawn again. Say no and nothing changes. Undo puts the redactions and the old scan back together.
Clean up scans no longer straightens a scan that already has words of its own (one that was read by text recognition elsewhere). Turning only the picture left its hidden words behind, so selecting, searching and redacting a word landed in the wrong place. The dialog says how many pages it will not turn. Black and white still applies to them.
On a page made of several pictures of the same size, such as a scan cut into bands, Clean up and lifting a picture now change only the picture you chose. Before, every picture of that size was replaced with the first one's pixels, or taken off the page.
Pressing a picture twice quickly no longer lifts it twice.
A PDF you open while Pages is still putting back your last session now stays open. Before, the session that was coming back could replace it a moment later.
A session Pages put back after a reload now asks before the tab closes once it is no longer remembered, for example after another tab opened a different file.
The installed app now moves to a new version in every open window. Before, a window opened on the day Pages was first installed could keep running the old version.
With a text box's Color menu open, your first click on a box now works. Before, it did nothing and you had to click again, whether you meant to drag that box or pick another one.
A hex code you typed in the Color menu is kept when you click the page without pressing Enter. Before, in Safari and Firefox it was lost.

October 16, 2026

Double-click a paragraph or a line of the document's own text to edit it. Edit text comes on and that text opens with the cursor where you clicked. Text that cannot be edited this way, such as a scanned page, still selects a word on a double-click.
In Edit text, a paragraph with a small raised mark in one of its lines, such as the ® in a product name, now opens as one paragraph, with the mark shown raised. Before, the paragraph was cut in two at that line, and the words after the mark could not move when you edited the words before it. A change keeps the mark small and raised beside its word, and a letter typed right after it is on the line. A title with such a mark is edited as one line the same way.
Words in Pages are now in US spelling: Color, Center, Gray and so on.
A picture in the file now moves with your first drag. Before, pressing on it lifted it off the page, and you had to drag it a second time to move it.
A printed form can become a fillable one. Choose Tools > Make fillable form. Pages finds the blanks on typed pages (lines, boxes, underscores and tick boxes) and puts a field on each, named from the words beside it. Click a field to rename it, change its type or make it required, drag it to move it, or press Delete to remove it. Use Text, Checkbox, Date and Signature to draw more fields. Export PDF saves a form that fills in any PDF viewer. Finding fields needs a typed PDF. On a scanned page, draw the fields by hand.
A fillable PDF can be filled in right in Pages. Click a field and type, tick a box, choose a radio button or pick from a list, and Undo takes each step back. A bar above the page shows the form is fillable and has Highlight fields, which outlines every field. A field that appears on more than one page shows what you type on all of them.
A fillable PDF stays fillable when you export it, through reordering, turning and copying pages. Text, tick boxes, radio buttons, lists, dates, read-only fields and empty signatures are all kept, and a field keeps its tooltip and what a list or tick box sends. Buttons on the form, such as Print or Clear, come along and still work in Acrobat. A date field keeps the date format the file gave it, and a value in letters outside the standard set, such as Łukasz or Иван, exports with its value intact. A form with scripts, calculations, layers, a hidden field or a signature already signed is printed instead: what you typed becomes part of the page and the boxes stop being fillable, and the bar says why when you open it.
Pictures can lose a plain background. Pick a picture on the page, one you dropped in or one you clicked to lift out of the file, and press Remove background on its toolbar (Alt+G). A white or one-color backdrop around a product photo is taken off, and anything inside the product, such as a white label, stays. The page, the thumbnail and the exported file all show the picture with a clear background, and Undo puts the background back. A picture whose background is not one plain color is left as it is, with a note that says so.
PDFs scanned on office printers now open with their pages showing, whether they came from scan to folder or scan to email. Before, they could open blank. They also open with no internet connection, and they keep their pictures when you export them.
Clean up scans no longer blurs or shrinks your pages, and you see the result before you export. A straightened page keeps its size and sharpness, a black and white scan stays black and white, and the file does not get bigger. Black and white now keeps faint words and gray paper readable and turns photos into a pattern of dots instead of a black block. Pages that are already straight are left alone, and Undo or Restore originals puts the scans back.
With Remember on this device turned on and Pages open in two tabs, opening a different PDF in one tab could bring back the other tab's edits on it after a reload, such as pictures from one file showing on another. Each tab now saves only to its own document. A tab whose document was replaced by another tab says so, and asks before you close it.

Text boxes can be any color: pick a box and use Color on its toolbar (Alt+C). The color menu keeps your recent colors, has a color picker (drag the square, slide the hue, or type a hex code) and a Revert button that puts the box back to black. The next box you add starts in the color you last chose, until you close the tab. The page, the thumbnail and the exported file all show the color.
Edit text has the same color menu, with Revert for the color the file had, your recent colors, and the colors already on the page. Your recent colors are shared between the two.
The Edit text bar no longer has Done and Cancel buttons. Press Enter or click away to keep an edit, and press Escape to throw it away.
A line you retyped now shows on the page in the color it was given from the line it replaced. Before, it showed black on the page while the thumbnail and the exported file had the color.
If you installed Pages from its old address (pages.whitneysolutions.tech), the installed copy now says so at the top of its window. That copy cannot open PDFs you double-click on your computer, and an installed app cannot be moved to a new address, so install Pages again from usepages.app and then remove the old one. The notice has buttons for opening usepages.app and for how to remove the old copy.
Pages now installs its own updates. You no longer see "A new version of Pages is ready" or press Reload. The update goes in on its own when nothing is half-done, and a short note says "Pages updated." afterwards. If you keep your work on this device, your document comes back as it was and on the page you were looking at; the undo list starts empty. If you do not, the update waits until you have exported your document or closed it, so it never reloads over changes you have not saved.
Text you select is now highlighted in a clear light blue, on the page and in Edit text alike. Before, a selection on the page was a dull gray-green that made the words under it hard to read.

The bar at the top has one button for getting your document out: Export PDF. In Chrome and Edge, Save as is no longer a second button beside it. It is still in the File menu, and Ctrl+S (Cmd+S on a Mac) still opens it.
Opening the sign-in page while you are already signed in now takes you straight into Pages instead of asking for a code again. To sign in as someone else, sign out of Pages first.

Whether you are offered Pages to install is now set for each organization, and it is off until it has been turned on for yours. While it is off, the downloads page does not list the desktop downloads and the browser copy does not show the Install app button. A copy of Pages you have already installed keeps working and signs in as before, and Pages in the browser is unchanged.

In Edit text, a line with a bold or italic word in it is now edited as one line. Click any word of it and the whole line opens. A word you add moves the rest of the line along, and each word stays in its own font. Before, a word typed before an italic word was drawn over it, and changing a word after a bold label could turn the whole line bold. Replace and Replace all do the same.
A line like that keeps its alignment, and it cannot grow over what stands after it on the same line, such as a price, or off the page. A change there is no room for is put back as it was, with a note that says there is no room.
The same now holds for any word or number you edit that has something beside it on its line, such as a name with a price next to it in a table. A longer name is no longer drawn over the price: a change there is no room for is put back as it was, with the same note, and Replace and Replace all leave it alone. A change that fits is kept as before.
In Edit text, when a change cannot be written in any font Pages has, the bar now says so even while it is asking whether to use your own copy of a font. Before, only the question showed.
Some files hold a font that has lost the shapes of letters the page did not use. A line edited in such a font used to be put back as it was, with a note that letters would be missing. Pages now reads the font first: the line is written whole in the lookalike font, every letter of it is drawn, and the bar says "lookalike" as soon as you click the line.

October 11, 2026

Edit text no longer loses letters on a page set in Calibri. Before, typing a letter the file's own font did not have rewrote the line in the lookalike font with about half of its letters missing, on the page and in the exported file, and nothing said so. A file already exported with such an edit still has the gaps: make the edit again on the original and export it again.
In Edit text, a block of two lines is now two separate lines. Before, shortening the first line could pull the first word of the second up onto it.
In Edit text, a change the page cannot take, such as a line made too large for the page, is put back as it was, with a note, and Export no longer stops on it. If that change was still open when you pressed Export, Save as or Print, nothing is exported and the note says the text was not kept.
Edit text now checks that every letter of a change is actually drawn. On some files the file's own font lists a letter it cannot draw; a change written in that font used to be kept with a gap where the letter was, on the page and in the exported file, and nothing said so. Now it is put back with a note like any other change the page cannot take, the line stays as it was, and the gap never reaches an exported file.
Tools > OCR is available on a page that is mostly a picture even when it carries a few typed words, such as a page number. Before, it was grayed out.
The Edit text window has the usual close button, an X at its top right, that does what Escape does: it closes the window without keeping the change.
Ctrl/Cmd+Z right after Replace all, with the cursor still in the Find or Replace box, undoes the replace. Before, it undid a keystroke in the box or nothing.
Text added to a page that is turned, or that arrived turned, now reads left to right across the page as you see it, on screen, in thumbnails and in the exported file. Before, it ran down the page.
The view stays on the page you are reading when you finish a text edit or close a dialog. Before, if you had clicked a page's thumbnail and then scrolled to another page, finishing an edit or closing a dialog could send you back to the page whose thumbnail you had clicked.

October 10, 2026

Export, Save as and Print now include words you are still typing in Edit text. Before, a file made while the words were still open for editing left them out and said "Exported". If those words cannot be kept, nothing is exported and a note says so.
In Edit text, when you are asked whether to use your own copy of a font, clicking away or pressing Tab now keeps what you typed in the lookalike font, as Enter and Done already did. Before, the words stayed open and unsaved.

October 9, 2026

After the app updates, a short note in the corner of the window says what changed, with a link to this page. It shows once and closes with its Close button.
Help > What's new opens this page at any time.
Signing out stays signed out on a slow connection. Before, a check that was already on its way could sign you back in.
Find counts the whole document before it shows a count. Right after a file opens, the bar says "Searching…" until every page has been read. Before, it could show a smaller count for a moment, and Replace all pressed then left the pages it had not read yet. In a document that "Remember on this device" brought back, Find now counts every page, not only the ones on screen.
In Safari, a drag that starts in the space between two lines of text now selects. Before, a few pixels under each line selected nothing.

October 8, 2026

The browser app no longer has a Save button. "Save as…" (in Chrome and Edge) and "Export PDF" are the two ways to keep your work, and Ctrl/Cmd+S opens Save as. The desktop app still has Save. If you still see a Save button in the browser, that copy is from before this change: refresh the page, or choose Reload when the installed app says a new version is ready.
A menu bar under the top bar: File, Edit, View, Insert, Page, Tools and Help. Zoom, going to a page, Find, Layers, Undo, Redo and Print are all in it. In a narrow window it is a single Menu button.
The tool rail on the left is gone. Text, Edit text, Signature and Image are icons at the end of the menu row, and everything else is in a menu: Open, Split, Close document and "Remember on this device" under File, Pages from a PDF and Page numbers under Insert, Clean up scans and Compress images under Tools.
A click outside a dialog no longer closes it, and every dialog has a Close button.
Ctrl+scroll and pinching zoom the document rather than the whole browser page, and Ctrl/Cmd+F opens the app's own Find.
Insert > Image puts the picture on the page right away, selected and ready to move.
Edit text: a click beside a line, or on an empty part of the page, no longer retypes the row. The bar above the words has Done and Cancel buttons, and a picture you move no longer hides the text it overlapped.
In Find, Replace is a labeled button that is always there.
The questions asked before opening another file, closing a document or restoring the page order now say what would be lost, and their buttons are named for what they do.
Sign in, in the browser, opens the sign-in page. With a document open it opens in a new tab, so the document stays where it is.

Edit text has a formatting bar above the words you are editing: size, bold, italic, color and alignment. Ctrl/Cmd+B and Ctrl/Cmd+I work as you would expect.
A paragraph now opens whole and reflows as you type. It can be justified, and its width changed by dragging the handle at its edge. An amber outline tells you when a paragraph has grown over what is below it.

October 4, 2026

Edit text now changes the page's own words, in the file's own font. Click a line or a table cell, type, and press Enter; Tab moves to the next cell and Escape cancels. The old words are removed from the saved file rather than covered over. If the file's font does not have a letter you typed, you are asked once whether to use your own copy of the font or a lookalike. A scanned page is still retyped over a cover, as before.
Find can replace: Replace changes the match in front of you, and Replace all changes every one.
Export now stops, and names the page, if any words are still under a redaction box or a page cannot be read well enough to be sure.

A PDF that has layers now gets a Layers panel, where each layer can be shown or hidden while you work. This changes what you see, not the file: a saved file keeps the layers as they were set when you opened it.
Saving, extracting and splitting now keep a file's layers. They used to be dropped.

September 30, 2026

An important redaction fix. A redacted file exported before this date could still hold the removed words inside the file, where a PDF viewer does not show them but other software can find them, and words that were part of a form were covered but not removed. Both are fixed. If you redacted a file with Pages before September 30, redact it again from the original.
Redacting words on a page of a fillable form no longer clears that page's filled-in fields and checkboxes.
Mail scanners that open the links in your mail can no longer lock you out of signing in. A code that was already used now says so rather than counting as a wrong guess, and "Email me a new code" is one press away.
Owners and admins can unlock a person's sign-in from the Organization page. Sending the invitation again also clears a lockout.
usepages.app now opens the app itself rather than the download page.

Pages moved to usepages.app. Old links, sign-in links and invitations still work, and you are asked to sign in once more in the browser. Mail from Pages now comes from noreply@usepages.app.
The desktop app is now called Pages Desktop rather than Collate. An installed copy keeps working. On Windows the first update installs beside the old Collate, which can then be uninstalled.
Owners and admins have an Organization page of their own: see members, invitations and seats, invite and remove people, change who is an admin, and rename the organization or set its logo. It is reached from Manage on the account page.
Owners and admins can now pick their organization's color on the Organization page, with a preview of how it looks in light and dark mode. A color too pale or too dark to carry text is adjusted slightly so it stays readable, and "Reset to default" goes back to the standard blue.

The app now carries your organization's name, logo and color: it is "Your organization Pages" once you sign in, and the invitation you are sent and the page it opens wear them too. Where no organization is known yet, it is simply Pages.

A new account page: change your name and email address, see and end your sessions, leave an organization, choose your notices, download your data or delete your account.
Email notices for a sign-in from an unfamiliar network, an invitation accepted, an organization using all its seats, and a reminder before an invitation expires.
Invitations can be sent as a link to copy, name the person who sent them, and show whether the email was delivered and whether the link was opened.
Organizations can verify their email domain and let people there join without an invitation, set a logo, choose app policies for reading scans and remembering work, run a trial, and see seat usage over time.
Console administrators sign in with a passkey as well as an email code.
Administrators can suspend a person in just one organization without affecting their access anywhere else, and can hand over ownership of an organization in a single step.
The privacy policy and terms of service were rewritten to describe what the software actually does.

Around September 12, 2026

Save and Save as now work directly in the browser, in Chrome and Edge: once you have opened a file, they write back to it the same way a desktop editor would.
The website's look now matches the desktop and browser app, and an installed window is only titled once.
All visible text switched to US English, the installed app's icon and window now look like the app, and signing in works properly for a person who belongs to more than one organization.
The editor and admin console got a visual refresh, with clearer wording in on-screen notifications and several small interface issues fixed.
Invitation emails now lead with the one-click sign-in link rather than a code and an installer link.
Sign-in links no longer carry your one-time code in the page's web address, for better protection against mail scanners and shared links.

Late August – early September 2026

An installed copy now tells you how long it can keep working without reconnecting, and it rechecks your access automatically while it is open.
Turning on "Remember my work on this device" while a document is already open no longer risks losing it if you close the tab right away.
Fixed a dark-mode contrast issue where a hovered primary button showed hard-to-read text.
Fixed the "Add PDF" preview dialog shifting the buttons as page thumbnails finished loading.
Several accessibility fixes: screen readers no longer hear a stale status message after it disappears, the page strip behaves as a proper list for assistive technology, and Ctrl/Cmd+A now selects all pages rather than the page's own text.
The app was renamed from Collate to Whitney Pages throughout the product.
